TIG or a.k.a. gas tungsten arc welding is the best choice for welding of stainless steel filters. It is the main welding process we use to make our sintered metal filter elements.

TIG is efficient for welding of the sintered wire mesh, as it can penetrate the mesh, melt and seal the inner side of the mesh while welding the outer side.  The welding seam is robust and strong, and can be easily cleaned. Filler metal with compatible material is also used to form strong and tight welding seam between the sintered mesh and other hardware.

Semi-automatic TIG welding machine melts the pleated mesh wire and forms the welding seam. The welding torch is moving continuously with program control. Thus the welding seam can be consistent and straight. This is how our sintered meta fiber filter and pleated wire mesh filter cartridges are made.
